Chloe AurardMany things have changed for Chloe Aurard over the last six months. She finished her NCAA career with Northeastern in Boston, represented France at the World Championships in Brampton, signed with the PHF's Boston Pride, was drafted and signed with PWHL New York, and is now set to begin a new chapter in her hockey career.
It's a whirlwind story all-too familiar with players across the league.
One of the biggest changes for Aurard will be changing from linemate and teammate with fellow PWHL rookies Alina Muller and Maureen Murphy, to an opponent.
"I think it's going to be fun...on the ice we have no friends," said Aurard of the opportunity to play her former teammates.
In New York and Connecticut, Aurard has settled in with another teammate. Much like in the NHL where we sometimes see young stars living with veterans, Aurard has moved in with Madison Packer's family.
"Settling was actually very fun," Aurard said of moving in with Packer, her wife Anya, and their two children.
For Aurard, Packer, and the rest of their PWHL New York teammates, the launch of the season is rapidly approaching. They drop the puck in the PWHL's inaugural game in Toronto on January 1. The significance of the moment was not lost on Aurard.
"It's going to be amazing, we've been waiting for a long time, it's going to be history," she said.
