While most of the PWHL now have a bulk of their rosters locked down, teams will be looking at the existing free agent pool, including undrafted free agents to sign in the coming days, and to invite as free agents to training camp. With a minimum of 28 players per roster required by the PWHL / PWHLPA collective bargaining agreement to be in attendance for each training camp, every team in the league needs between four and seven additional players to comply with camp rules.

There are plenty of options from the PWHL Draft, international leagues, and remaining free agent pool.

    Top Undrafted Players Available

Here's a look at the top ranked players who went unselected in the 2025 PWHL Draft.

    1. Vita Ponyatovskaya, D, Yale (NCAA) - Some teams had her as a possible third round pick. How she slipped is a mystery. She's got a great skill set. Could turn into a post draft steal.

    2. Morgan Neitzke, LW, Lindenwood (NCAA) - Weak program hurt her, but she likes to play physical, and can score.

    3. Reece Hunt, LW, Lulea (SDHL) - There's no doubt Reece Hunt can play in this league. A serious injury last year is the only thing that got in the way. Watch for teams like Vancouver, Ottawa, Minnesota, and New York to target her.

    4. Julia Shaunessy, D, Boston University (NCAA) - The 6-foot-1 defender moves well for her size, and can play a variety of roles. As a depth defender, her upside is too good not to give her a shot.

    5. Alexandra Huszak, C, MAC Budapest (EWHL)

Hungary's top player recently, there's no reason Huszak can't step into a bottom six and compete hard.

    6. Maggy Burbidge, RW, HC Fribourg-Gottéron (SWHL)

Deceptive with the puck, great hands. Showed her offensive skills can translate from NCAA, to U Sports, to Europe. She can play in this league.

    7. Sydney Langseth, C, Minnesota State (NCAA)

Sees the ice well and makes herself available to teammates losing coverage. Often found net front with Minnesota State. Capable of playing bottom six minutes.

    8. Laura Fuoco, C, Dartmouth (NCAA)

Big body who uses her 5-foot-11 frame to get to the dirty areas. Projects as a checking line forward who can wear an opponent down.

    9. Lucia Haluskova, RW, HK PSRZ Bratislava (EWHL)

Likely to stay in Europe. Needs to move to the SDHL to get stronger. Once she does that, watch out.

    10. Nicole Vallario, D, St. Thomas (NCAA)

Swiss national team player had a breakout season on the international stage and has been a steadying force for St. Thomas. Has faced the best for years at Worlds.

    11. Olivia Muhn, D, Yale (NCAA)

Smooth player who thinks the game well. There's belief Muhn could be a quiet contributor who earns respect from her low risk game.

    12. Darcie Lappan, LW, MoDo (SDHL)

Good season overseas, and a player known for her NCAA production. Can handle the pace and physicality of this league.

    13. Madison Mashuga, RW, Minnesota State (NCAA)

Good stick, active in pursuit. She generates chances through pace and a motor that keeps running. Has the tools to contribute in a bottom six role.

    14. Jenna Donohue, F, Quinnipiac (NCAA)

Ball of energy who plays a solid two-way game and competes hard.

    15. Franziska Feldmeier, F, Eisbaren Berlin (DFEL)

German national team member is a veteran of multiple European leagues. She has the experience to step in as a depth pick up and check from day one.

    16. Peyton Anderson, F, DNP

Anderson stepped away from the game last season but was one of NCAA hockey’s better two-way forwards with Northeastern. She undoubtedly has the toolkit, including as a strong skater, to play in this league.

    17. Kathryn Reilly, D, DNP

The top scoring defender in NCAA hockey in 2024 captaining Quinnipiac. She'll get a chance if she wants it.

    18. Karley Garcia, D, Penn State (NCAA)

Advanced stats make Garcia and intriguing D. Not to be overlooked. She could surprise people.

    19. Mackenzie Kordic, F, British Columbia (U Sports)

Big and mean with an edge and ability to score. Skating will need to improve.

    20. Mathea Fischer, C, SDE HF (SDHL)

Veteran Norwegian could come in and play a physical depth role.

    21. Kylie Aquaro, RW, RIT (NCAA)

    22. Leah Herrfort, F, Waterloo (U Sports)

    23. Emily Rickwood, D, KRS Shenzhen (WCIHL)

    24. Kira Juodikis, C, New Hampshire (NCAA)

    25. Elizabeth Lang, F, HC Davos (SWHL)

Others To Watch: Gabby Jones, F, 1999, SDE HF (SDHL); Sarah Marchand, F, St. Lawrence (NCAA); Millie Sirum, LW, Providence (NCAA); Joelle Fiala, F, HC Davos (SWHL); Shailynn Snow, F, HC Fribourg-Gottéron (SWHL); Aly McLeod, F, St. Lawrence (NCAA); Sara Boucher, LW, New Hampshire (NCAA); Lauren Messier, C, Dartmouth (NCAA); Jenna Goodwin, C, Clarkson (NCAA); Katie Chan, C, Cornell (NCAA); Bryn Saarela, RW, Syracuse (NCAA).
