The Boston Fleet are done with Lowell, officially moving into Boston to play at Agganis Arena. The team made the formal announcement on Tuesday.
The Boston Fleet will play in Boston moving forward the team confirmed this week.
The team will be leaving the Tsongas Center in Lowell, and moving into Boston to play at Agganis Arena on Boston University's campus.
"We are excited to announce that for the 2026-27 season, the Fleet are moving to Boston full-time with Agganis Arena becoming our primary home venue," a Fleet representative wrote to season-ticket holders. "The enthusiasm for the Fleet within the City of Boston has grown steadily since our inaugural game at Agganis Arena. This transition presents an exciting opportunity to build on that momentum while expanding our connection with fans across Greater Boston, the South Shore, and Rhode Island."
The team sent out an announcement on the move shortly after.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring the Boston Fleet to Agganis Arena full-time,” said Boston Fleet Director of Business Operations Laura Marie Davey. “The passion for the Fleet in the City of Boston has continued to grow since our first game at Agganis, and this move allows us to build on that momentum while creating new opportunities to connect with supporters throughout Greater Boston, the South Shore and Rhode Island. We’re deeply grateful to the Lowell community and our partners at the Tsongas Center, whose support has been instrumental to the growth of our organization. We look forward to carrying that support with us as we begin this next chapter.”
In their inaugural season in Lowell, Boston averaged the second lowest attendance mark in the league at 3,770. In year two, Boston saw that mark grow to 4,587, a number bolstered by a handful of games at Agganis.
Boston saw demand in Boston grow again this season selling out TD Garden, which helped boost their overall attendance average to 5,991.
“We are deeply honored and proud to be the primary home venue of the Boston Fleet for the 2026-27 season,” said Agganis Arena Executive Director Kris Brassil. "Watching the growth of the PWHL and other women’s leagues across sports has been nothing short of incredible. The Boston Fleet, the PWHL, and, most importantly, the fans have been a pleasure to host here at Agganis, and we’re very excited to continue to build those relationships as a perfect complement to BU’s proud hockey tradition.”
To season-ticket holders, the Fleet acknowledged their gratitude to Lowell.
