Abby Newhook finished the 2025-26 PWHL season as one of the top rookie scorers among forwards in the league. Boston rewarded her with a new two-year contract.
The Boston Fleet have re-signed forward Abby Newhook, a 2025-26 rookie standout, to a two-year contract through 2027-28.
Newhook was one of the Fleet's three protections in Phase 3 of the PWHL’s Expansion Player Distribution Process receiving a qualifying offer, but the team worked on a new deal to keep Newhook in Boston longer.
Following a 14-point season, second among rookie forwards behind only Casey O'Brien, Newhook was named to the PWHL All-Rookie Team.
As the Fleet's news release stated, Newhook "made an immediate impact" with the team last season recording three goals in her first four professional games, and eventually led all rookies with a +17 rating.
The 23-year-old from St. John’s, Newfoundland product, was Boston's fifth round pick, 34th overall in the 2025 PWHL Draft following four seasons with Boston College.
