PWHL New York has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with defender Brooke Hobson.

Hobson was an eighth round pick, 45th overall by New York in the PWHL Draft. The 24-year-old left shot defender who hails from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan spent last season in Sweden playing for MoDo following her NCAA career.

Hobson captain Northeastern University for multiple seasons at the NCAA level being named a Hockey East All-Star three times.

Last year with MoDo, Hobson recorded 20 points in 32 games.

Hobson was originally signed to play for the PHF's Boston Pride this season prior to the league's acquisition. As former Pride head coach and current New York Rangers player development staffer Paul Mara said, Hobson has been "an elite defender at both the college and professional levels."
