Two-time Finnish Olympian and four time World Championship medalist Emma Nuutinen has re-signed with the PHF's Buffalo Beauts.

The Buffalo Beauts have re-signed Emma Nuutinen, a two-time Olympian and bronze medalist with Finland.
After taking a season away from hockey following a knee injury, Nuutinen returned to the game last season with the Beauts scoring 10 points in 24 games for Buffalo.
"I enjoyed my first season with the Beauts and I believe in this program,” said Nuutinen in a team news release. “I’m beyond excited to be back in Buffalo for another year.”
Prior to joining Buffalo, Nuutinen played four seasons of NCAA hockey with Mercyhurst and North Dakota, and also played a handful of games in Naisten Liiga with Kiekko-Espoo.
She has a World Championship silver and two bronze medals, and was also a U-18 World Championship tournament All-Star in 2013.
"I think last season we saw glimpses of Emma’s brilliance,” said Beauts general manager Nate Oliver.
“She was on the mend from a knee injury and didn’t really have the same timetable as everyone else to be at peak performance last season. The best is yet to come. Physically, Emma is one of the most powerful players I have ever worked with. I call her ‘Mestari’ which is the Finnish word for ‘the Champ’. Noora Räty told me last year that this is what the Finnish National Team players have always called Emma, so I followed suit – it’s definitely a word that properly defines Emma.”
Nuutinen signed a one-year deal. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
