The Minnesota Whitecaps have agreed to terms with Jonna Albers, who sits third in all-time league scoring, on a two-year contract.

The Minnesota Whitecaps are bringing back team leader, and one of the best players to ever lace them up in the PHF, Jonna Albers. Albers and the Whitecaps agreed to a two-year contract extension.
Last season Albers scored her 100th career point in the league, only the third player ever, and fastest in league history, to reach the mark.
Albers finnished tied for the Minnesota Whitecaps scoring lead last season with 20 points in 24 games.
“Being a part of this team since it first joined the league has been so special to me," said Albers in a news release. "The Whitecaps have made a huge impact on the growth of women's hockey, especially in Minnesota."
Albers, 29, is a University of New Hampshire alumni, former Newcomer of the Year, and won the 2019 Isobel Cup with the Whitecaps.
“People like to talk about all the new young players, but they often forget about the veterans,” said Whitecaps general manager Chi-Yin Tse said. “She has gotten better with age and I believe she is in her prime right now. I’m excited to see her compete - I don’t think anyone hates losing as much as she does.”
The Minnesota Whitecaps now have 20 players under contract for next season.
