Ottawa signs forward Brooke McQuigge to a one-year contract and defender Brooke Hobson to a two-year contract.
The Ottawa Charge have announced two signings on the league's first day of Phase 6 of the PWHL's Expansion Player Distribution Process, agreeing to terms with forward Brooke McQuigge on a one-year contract and defender Brooke Hobson to a two-year contract.
Hobson, who arrived in the nation's capital as a free agent last offseason following two years in New York, had four points in 23 regular-season games and added one goal, a game-tying third-period tally, in the team's eight playoff games. Over her 76 career PWHL games, Hobson has 13 points.
McQuigge, acquired by the team in the league's largest trade to date with the Vancouver Goldeneyes in January, had one assist in 17 regular-season games. McQuigge became a Walter Cup champion as a rookie with the Minnesota Frost in 2024-25 and has played in 16 playoff games during her two seasons in the league.
That signing brings Ottawa's roster to a total of 12 players under contract for the 2026-27 season:
Forwards: McQuigge, Rebecca Leslie, Gabbie Hughes, Kateřina Mrázová, Michela Cava
Defenders: Hobson, Ronja Savolainen, Jocelyne Larocque, Kathryn Reilly, Emma Greco
Goaltenders: Gwyneth Philips and Kendra Woodland
