The Ottawa Charge have re-signed defender Vita Poniatovskaia and goalie Sanni Ahola to one-year contracts for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

The Ottawa Charge have announced one-year contracts for defender Vita Poniatovskaia and goaltender Sanni Ahola. Both contracts will carry through the 2026-27 season.

Drafted in the fifth round of the 2025 PWHL Draft, Ahola made her PWHL debut on December 17 against the Seattle Torrent and would go on to capture her first PWHL victory on January 11 versus the Boston Fleet, outduelling Aerin Frankel and making 31 saves. Ahola finished her rookie season with a 1.93 goals-against average and .927 save percentage and played in four games for Finland at the Winter Olympics, the first of her career.

Arriving in the nation's capital on a camp invite, Poniatovskaia initially made the team as a reserve before playing in seven games following an injury to Brooke Hobson, debuting on March 29. Poniatovskaia is a graduate of Yale University, where she recorded 62 points over 131 games.

The Charge now have 16 players under contract for the upcoming season:

Forwards: Rebecca Leslie, Gabbie Hughes, Kateřina Mrázová, Michela Cava, Dara Greig, Brooke McQuigge and Jenna Buglioni

Defenders: Poniatovskaia, Ronja Savolainen, Jocelyne Larocque, Kathryn Reilly, Emma Greco and Hobson

Goaltenders: Ahola, Gwyneth Philips and Kendra Woodland
