The Ottawa Charge re-signed four players on Thursday headlined by Austrian forward Anna Meixner. Ottawa also re-signed goalie Logan Angers, and defenders Sam Isbell and Jessica Adolfsson.

“We are excited to see the growth of Anna Meixner next season as she became an important part of our offense in the second half of the season and into the playoffs,” said Charge General Manager Mike Hirshfeld.

“She was making big strides near the end of the season after making the adjustments from European hockey."

The remainder of Ottawa's signings were depth players for the team last season with Isbell and Adolfsson spending the majority of the year as reserves, and Angers serving as the team's third goalie.

"While Logan Angers didn’t get into a game last season, she was an important partner to support Gwyneth Philips. She worked hard to improve her craft, and we are excited to see how she progresses in year-two," said Hirshfeld.

The Charge secured Isbell and Adolfsson as depth for their roster.

“Sam is popular among her teammates and has an elite understanding of the game. Jessica has a physical presence that is hard to match in this league. She was a tough opponent to her teammates in practice," said Hirshfeld. "We had so much depth on defense last season and very few injuries. They worked hard all season and will get a chance to prove what they can do next season."

The Ottawa Charge lost several key players this offseason including Aneta Tejralova, Ashton Bell, Tereza Vanisova, Danielle Serdachny, Emerance Maschmeyer, Natalie Snodgrass, Jincy Roese, and Zoe Boyd. Victoria Bach retired, while the Charge let Alexa Vasko walk.

They added Elizabeth Giguere, Emma Bergesen, and Brooke Hobson in free agency, and were able to selected Rory Guilday and Anna Shokhina in the draft.
