The Connecticut Whale have extended their partnership with the International Skating Center of Connecticut (ISCC) to serve as home through 2025-26, the team announced Tuesday.
The ISCC will host the Whale’s home games practices, training and team events.
Connecticut plans to expand its strength and conditioning staff to work out of facility’s state-of-the art gym. The team’s front office and support staff will also have office space to work out of, bringing all aspects of the organization closer.
“With a brand new gym, warm-up areas, new locker room and office space for our staff, the Whale will be at the top of the women’s hockey world in what we can provide our players in one building,”
team owner Tobin Kelly said. “There will be no other home in pro women’s hockey like it when we are done.”
Additionally, the ISCC is working on expanding seating areas and the in-arena experience for fans.
The agreement builds upon the features provided when the Whale moved to the Simsbury, Connecticut facility for the 2022-23 season. The ISCC provided the team with an on-ice and in-arena branding, a dressing room exclusive to the team and other meeting spaces.
“ISCC bent over backwards to create a great experience for our players, fans and staff in our first season in Simsbury,” said Tobin Kelly, owner of the Connecticut Whale. “This long-term partnership with the rink means that our players and staff can really put down roots.”
