Montreal Victoire netminder Ann-Renee Desbiens, Boston Fleet goalie Aerin Frankel, and Ottawa Charge backstopper Gwyneth Philips have been named the finalists for the PWHL's 2025 Goaltender of the Year.

Frankel was also a finalist in 2024 when Toronto's Kristen Campbell received the award.

According to the PWHL, "The PWHL Goaltender of the Year award is presented by Rogers to the goaltender who showcases the most outstanding ability at the position throughout the regular season."

Ann-Renee Desbiens backstopped Montreal to a first place finish in the regular season where she led all starting goaltenders with 15 wins, a 1.86 GAA, and .932 save percentage.

Frankel was the backbone of the Fleet who missed the PWHL playoffs by a single point in Frankel's absence at the end of the season. She started more games, 23, than any other goaltender this year and made a league high 591 saves coupled with a .921 save percentage and 2.28 goals against average.

Philips, the first rookie to be nominated for the award, spent the first half of the season backing up Ottawa's Emerance Maschmeyer. When Maschmeyer went down with an injury Philips stepped in and led the Ottawa Charge to a playoff spot. She posted a 2.11 GAA and .919 save percentage this season.

The 2025 PWHL Awards will take place June 25 in Ottawa, Ontario.
