Emma Maltais will play in Toronto being selected in the second round, 11th overall in the PWHL Draft.

Emma Maltais has been selected by 11th overall by Toronto in the PWHL Draft. Maltais was Toronto's second round pick.

Maltais, 23, is one of the younger players entering the draft this year after completing her NCAA career with Ohio State.

The Burlington, Ontario product has won Olympic gold and two World Championship golds with Canada, and also collected a silver this spring with Canada.

Last season with Ohio State, Maltais scored 48 points in 39 games. She's yet to step up as a key offensive contributor with Canada, but in a checking line and shutdown role, Maltais has been impactful.

In the PWHL, she'll have an opportunity to grab a scoring line role immediately.
