PWHL Montreal has signed Team Canada defender Erin Ambrose to a three-year guaranteed contract.

Erin Ambrose, who was Montreal's first round pick in the PWHL Draft, has signed a three-year deal with the club.

Ambrose, 29, who was chosen 6th overall by PWHL Montreal, will be a key piece to Montreal's blueline for the next three seasons.

Ambrose is a long time member of Canada's national team and played last season for the PWHPA's Team Sonnet. With Canada, Ambrose has won both Olympic and World Championship gold and was named a World Championship all-star in 2021. She also captained Team Canada's U-18 national team earning two gold medals and Best Defender honors in 2012.

Prior to this season, Ambrose played in both the PWHPA and CWHL, where she was named the 2019 CWHL Defender of the Year while playing for the Montreal Canadiennes.

At the NCAA level, Ambrose helped Clarkson win a national championship in 2014, the same season she was named a Patty Kazmaier nominee.

This week at the Rivalry Series, Ambrose suffered a lower body injury. It's unknown how the injury will impact her status moving toward training camp this week.
