Kali Flanagan and Brittany Howard know each other well as opponents last season in the PWHL.
Flanagan was the PHF Defender of the Year playing for the Boston Pride, while Howard was one of the league's top goal scorers and won an Isobel Cup with the PHF's Toronto Six.
This year they were set to become teammates with the Boston Pride, but instead now find themselves teammates with PWHL Toronto. Even more, Flanagan and Howard are playing side-by-side as a defensive pairing on Toronto's powerplay.
The mobile duo found immediate chemistry with Howard shedding her normal forward position with the player advantage, each benefitting from the other's vision and skills as quarterbacks of Toronto's powerplay.
With Renata Fast and Jocelyne Larocque running Toronto's other powerplay unit, PWHL Toronto has one of the best one-two punches with the player advantage in the league.
Here's what Flanagan and Howard had to say about playing with each other on Toronto's powerplay. Watch their interview with The Hockey News' Ian Kennedy above.
