PWHL Montreal has added to their bench alongside head coach Kori Cheverie, as the team has hired ex-NHLer Eric Houde as an assistant coach.

“It’s the chance to rub shoulders with the best in the world," Houde told La Presse. "Marie-Philip Poulin is the best in the world. Top athletes are often special, they always want to be the best. I will be able to rub shoulders with Poulin, Ann-Renée Desbiens too. And I will learn from these athletes. I hope they enjoy my work!"

Houde, 46, played 30 games in the NHL across three seasons, all for the Montreal Canadiens. He also spent several seasons playing in the AHL, IHL, and in Europe.

Since retiring, Houde entered coaching, serving last season as the head coach of Longueuil Collège-Français.

In his interview with La Presse, Houde also mentioned the team will be playing in Verdun, adding to the expectation of the Montreal franchise playing at the Verdun Auditorium and practicing at Daniele Sauvageau's former project, Centre 21.02.
