The forwards sign two-year contracts with the expansion Hamilton organization, reuniting from their junior careers.
Following two seasons in the nation's capital, forward Alexa Vasko is parting ways with the Ottawa Charge, signing a two-year contract with the expansion PWHL Hamilton, reuniting with teammates Brianne Jenner, Emily Clark, Peyton Hemp, and Zoe Boyd. She is joined by former Stoney Creek Sabres teammate Kayla Vespa, who also signed a two-year contract with Hamilton.
Known for her physicality and team-first attitude, Vasko recorded seven points over 54 career regular-season games with the Charge. She finished second on the team with 49 regular-season hits, along with 17 blocked shots, while going 53.1% in the face-off dot. Vasko has played in the postseason in each of her three PWHL seasons since being drafted 83rd overall by Toronto in the league's inaugural draft.
Vespa, who was selected in the 13th round of the inaugural PWHL Draft, has spent her entire PWHL career with the New York organization, where she has recorded five points (two goals, three assists) over her 63 career regular-season games.
PWHL Hamilton now has 12 players under contract for the upcoming season:
Forwards: Jenner (Phase 2), Clark (Phase 2), Alina Müller (Phase 2), Abby Hustler (Phase 4), Hemp (Phase 5), Vasko (Phase 6), and Vespa (Phase 6)
Defenders: Nicole Gosling (Phase 2), Boyd (Phase 3), Riley Brengman (Phase 4), and Simpson (Phase 4)
