Aerin Frankel and the Boston Fleet blanked the Seattle Torrent 3-0 on Saturday in front of 6,164 fans at Tsongas Center, the largest regular season home crowd in Boston's history. Only one game, the fifth and deciding game of the inaugural Walter Cup final ever drew more.
Abby Newhook continued her strong rookie campaign for the Fleet. Megan Keller took a puck below the goal line and as she came around the net, she found Newhook in the slot where Newhook made no mistake beating Corinne Schroeder.
After a scoreless second, Jamie Lee Rattray recovered a puck along the wall before finding a seam to cycle the puck down to Sophie Shirley in her first game back from LTIR. Shirley found Susanna Tapani on a down low two-on-none for a tap in by Tapani.
Finally off a Tapani face-off win in the offensive zone, Daniela Pejsova sent the puck D-to-D to Haley Winn who walked in and picked the top corner to make it 3-0 Boston.
Frankel's 21 saves wrapped up the victory for the Fleet, who remain tied for first in the PWHL with 42 points alongside the Minnesota Frost.
Boston is back in action Tuesday night when they host the Vancouver Goldeneyes.
