Loren Gabel scored twice, and Toronto failed to find the win column again after falling 3-2 to Boston.

There was vast excitement for PWHL Toronto entering the season. The team had signed three of the best players in the world in Sarah Nurse, Blayre Turnbull, and Renata Fast, and were able to scoop up Canadian national team members Natalie Spooner, Emma Maltais, Jocelyne Larocque, and Kristen Campbell in the draft.
Through the opening weeks of the season however, that excitement has slid into trepidation for Toronto fans as their team continues to struggle.
Wednesday night at Mattamy Athletic Centre, Toronto jumped out of the gate with Hannah Miller scoring her first of the season, and Toronto outshooting Boston 10-3 in the first period.
The second was more evenly matched, but Toronto continued to hold the play. That ended when Alina Muller found Loren Gabel down the right wing. Gabel showed off her world class shot beating Kristen Campbell over the glove. Six minutes later, Megan Keller fired a high one-timer from the point which also found the back of the net to put Boston into the lead 2-1 heading into the third.
Hannah Miller got her second goal of the game approaching the midway point of the third. This time a rebound popped up and Miller was able to bat the puck out of the air to beat Emma Soderberg.
After the teams exchanged chances, Muller connected with Gabel yet again as Gabel scored her second of the game to give Boston the 3-2 lead, and a 3-2 win.
Toronto outshot Boston 32-22 in the game.
Toronto struggled on the power play going 0-for-5 on the night. Netminding also remains a concern for Toronto as Campbell's 0.863 save percentage on the night keeps her sitting 10th out of 10 goalies who have played at least 60 minutes this season.
