The Minnesota Frost are one of three teams firmly in a playoff spot at the moment, a position they punctuated on Friday with a 4-1 win over the Seattle Torrent in front of 11,120 fans at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul.

The Minnesota Frost earned a decisive 4-1 win over the last place Seattle Torrent punctuating their positioning in the PWHL standings.

Minnesota now sits alone in third place in the PWHL standings with 33 points, with six points separating themselves from fourth place New York, and seven points up on fifth place Ottawa, with a game in hand on each. Only the Boston Fleet (37 points) and Montreal Victoire (34 points) are above Minnesota in the standings.

Maddie Rooney had another strong game in the crease for Minnesota making 28 saves in front of 11,120 fans at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota.

It did not take long for the Frost to get their fan base into the game as Peyton Anderson scored her first career PWHL goal shovelling home a top shelf marker on the backhand over the shoulder of Corinne Schroeder in Seattle's net only 2:30 into the game.

Before the opening frame ended, Abby Hustler scored for the Frost to put Minnesota up 2-0.

In the second period, Kelly Pannek forced a turnover before Britta Curl-Salemme made a pretty behind the back pass to Klara Hymlarova who made no mistake scoring another insurance marker for the Frost who led 3-0 heading to the third.

Trailing by three, the Torrent got life in the third as Danielle Serdachny made a powerful drive down the left wing side before dropping her shoulder and cutting net front. Rooney made the initial stop but the put jumped into the slot where a waiting Lexie Adzija made no mistake to cut Minnesota's lead to 3-1

Late in the game however, with the net empty, Taylor Heise took the puck and found the gaping cage to ice the 4-1 win for the Frost.
