Minnesota signed homegrown product Grace Zumwinkle to a guaranteed three-year contract prior to the open of inaugural PWHL training camps.

Zumwinkle recently completed her NCAA career playing for the University of Minnesota.

“We welcome the very familiar Minnesota hockey family name Zumwinkle, to Team Minnesota, more specifically, Grace Zumwinkle," said Charlie Burggraf, head coach of PWHL Minnesota. "Grace is the quintessential team player as she leads both on and off the ice. She is a very talented forward and excels both offensively and defensively. She has been a force at every level she has competed at and still has tremendous potential as she is an elite level athlete. We are thrilled to have her in a Team Minnesota uniform!”

Minnesota selected the former Olympian and USA national team member in the third round, 13th overall in the PWHL Draft. According to the former Ms. Hockey as Minnesota's top high school player, she's excited to continue to play in her home state.

“I am super excited to sign with PWHL Minnesota," said Zumwinkle. Ever since I was a young girl it has been a dream of mine to continue to play hockey professionally and it's a huge honor to continue to do so in my home state and The State of Hockey.”

Last season captaining the University of Minnesota Zumwinkle scored 25 goals and 61 points in 38 games for the Golden Gophers.

She joins Taylor Heise, Lee Stecklein, Kelly Pannek, Nicole Hensley and Kendall Coyne Schofield as Minnesota's players signed to three year deals.
