Emma Woods, who won an Isobel Cup title with the PHF's Toronto Six last season has signed with PWHL New York.
PWHL New York has signed forward Emma Woods to a one-year contract for the 2024 season.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Emma Woods to our squad," said general manager Pascal Daoust. "A true leader of the highest caliber, she served as captain in her final university season and was assistant captain for the last three seasons in the pros. Emma brings a remarkable presence on the ice, elevating the performance of each of her teammates.”
Woods was one of the PHF's top scorers last season collecting 23 points in 24 games for the Six, before adding three points in four playoff contests. Prior to joining the Six, Woods spent two seasons in the CWHL with the KRS Vanke Rays, and a year in Sweden playing for Leksands.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be selected by New York in the PWHL inaugural season," said Woods. "It’s an honor and a privilege to represent this team and I couldn’t be more excited to get things started in New York. I believe that our staff have put together a special group of players, and we plan to make a big impact. I’m looking forward to puck drop.”
New York drafted Woods 81st overall in the PWHL Draft.
