The PWHL is officially expanding to Seattle, Washington with the new team set to play in the 2025-26 season. The new PWHL Seattle franchise will play their home games at Climate Pledge Arena and practice at the Kraken Community Iceplex.

The new team will have their expansion announced at 11am Pacific / 2pm Eastern at Climate Pledge Arena. The new franchise will use emerald green as their primary color.

"The decision to expand to Seattle follows an extensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process and reflects the initial stages of the league’s long-term vision for strategic growth," the PWHL wrote in a press release. "Seattle’s bid was led by Oak View Group, the developers and operators of Climate Pledge Arena, alongside the Seattle Kraken."

"Seattle emerged as a natural fit for PWHL expansion for several reasons, including its best-in-class facilities, a growing youth hockey community, and passionate women’s sports fanbase."

The PWHL Takeover Tour stopped in Seattle this season drawing 12,608 fans to Climate Pledge Arena.

Earlier this month the PWHL announced their seventh franchise heading to Vancouver, British Columbia. Seattle becomes the PWHL's 8th franchise joining Boston, Minnesota, Montreal, New York, Ottawa and Toronto.
