Ottawa has secured their first defender for the inaugural PWHL season signing USA Olympian Jincy Roese-Dunne. Roese-Dunne signed for two seasons.

Roese-Dunne, 26, was Ottawa's third round pick, 17th overall in the 2023 PWHL Draft. Last season she played for Team Adidas registering three points in 20 games.

"We are thrilled to have Jincy join us in Ottawa," said general manager Mike Hirshfeld. "Her experience will be an incredible asset for our defensive core, and we believe she will be a great role model, and leader for our younger players."

In 2022, Roese-Dunne, a St. Louis product, played for Team USA at both the World Championships and Olympic Games recording 10 points in 14 games at the events from USA blueline.

She's an alumni of Ohio State, serving as team captain for two seasons, and an assistant captain for two seasons. While at Ohio State, Roese-Dunne was twice named the WCHA Defender of the Year.
