Kendall Coyne Schofield will miss the 2026-27 PWHL season and the 2026 World Championships after the Minnesota Frost captain, and Team USA veteran announced her pregnancy.
"On behalf of the entire Minnesota Frost family, we couldn't be happier for Kendall, Michael and Drew as they prepare to welcome a new addition to their family. This is such an exciting chapter in their lives, and we're thrilled to celebrate alongside them," Frost general manager Melissa Caruso wrote in a team statement.
"Kendall means so much to our team, both on and off the ice. While we'll miss seeing her compete this season, the leadership, experience and energy she brings to the Frost extends far beyond the game."
"We can't wait to welcome the newest member of the Frost family next year, and we'll be here to support Kendall and her family every way possible."
Last season Coyne Schofield was a top ten scorer in the PWHL despite missing seven games with injury following the Olympics, where she helped USA capture a gold medal.
Coyne Schofield recorded 23 points in 23 games for the Frost.
She captained Minnesota to back-to-back Walter Cup titles during the league's first two seasons.
