PWHL Boston didn't get off to the start they wanted falling to Toronto in their preseason opener, but the team did so without some of their biggest names in the lineup.

According to head coach Courtney Kessel, she wanted to give every player a fair opportunity to make the team, calling their roster and play a "work in progress." Kessel however did find positives, specifically in Boston's transition play as the game went on.
