Ken Klee was one of Kendall Coyne Schofield's favorite coaches, now they'll be reunited with PWHL Minnesota.

In 2017, there was turmoil in USA Hockey's women's national team program. The team was embroiled in negotiations for better working conditions and equitable pay. Following gold at the 2015 and 2016 World Championships, the team also learned their head coach had been unexpectedly fired.

Kendall Coyne Schofield, a member of PWHL Minnesota, was one of USA's stars at the 2015 and 2015 World Championships, and as she wrote in her 2022 book, "As Fast As Her: Dream Big, Break Barriers, Achieve Success," the team was shocked he was released at the time.

"We had all figured he would be the 2018 Olympic team coach," she wrote. All he did was win and he had the respect of the players. To this day, no one knows why the general manager, Reagan Carey, canned one of the most likeable and successful coaches the Women's National Team has ever had. He is still one of my favorite coaches and I am so thankful for all the time he spent developing my game and for his continued support to this day."

Now, Coyne Schofield and Klee will be reunited. Other members of those 2015 and 2016 teams include PWHL Minnesota goaltender Nicole Hensley and defender Lee Stecklein.
