Susanna Tapani, a Finnish legend, was selected in the fifth round, 25th overall by Minnesota in the PWHL Draft.

Tapani's resume included five World Championship medals including a silver with Finland in 2019. She also has a pair of Olympic silver medals to her name.

The long time Finnish national team leader took last season away from hockey, but she stayed sharp on her skates captaining Finland's ringette team to a World Championship gold medal where she was named tournament MVP.

In 2022, Tapani scored eight points in seven games at the Olympics, and five in six at the World Championships while also leading the KRS Vanke Rays to a ZHL title scoring 22 points in 20 regular season and playoff games.

In total, Tapani has represented Finland at three Olympic Games, eight World Championships and three U-18 World Championships.

Tapani had signed with the PHF's Metropolitan Riveters this offseason.
