PWHL Minnesota forward Brittyn Fleming, 25, today announced her retirement from hockey. She won the Walter Cup this season with Minnesota.
PWHL Minnesota forward Brittyn Fleming announced her retirement from hockey today on social media at age 25.
Fleming is coming off a championship season winning the inaugural Walter Cup with PWHL Minnesota.
"A sport that has given me a lifetime of memories and friendships," Fleming wrote on Instagram. "It wasn’t always easy but it was always worth it - no other way I’d want to end this career."
Fleming had a goal and an assist for Minnesota in 23 games this season and added an assist in nine playoff games.
Last season Fleming made her professional debut with the PHF's Minnesota Whitecaps where she scored nine points in 24 games. Fleming has also been an invitee to USA Hockey's national team selection camps the last two years.
In the NCAA, Fleming, who is from Oregon, Wisconsin, spent five seasons with Minnesota State University. In her final season with Minnesota State Fleming scored 20 goals and 45 points in 35 games. She totalled 114 points in 161 career games with Minnesota State.
