The Montreal Force have re-signed defenders Taylor Baker and Christine Deaudelin, and signed USports grad Marika Labrecque.

The Montreal Force have signed a trio of players including McGill University graduate Marika Labrecque, and returnees Taylor Baker and Christine Deaudelin.

Labrecque spent six seasons with McGill University. This season she had a down year offensively scoring four points in 20 games. The season prior however, Labrecque had incredible chemistry playing alongside current Montreal Force forward Jade Downie Landry. That season she finished second in scoring on the McGill roster behind only Downie Landry notching 23 points in 15 games.

“We saw Marika grow in this game for the past five years," said Force president Kevin Raphaël in a team news release. "Yes, it was not her best season last year but I believe that she could be a surprise in this league. She can play every position and she’s coming in with the right mindset and attitude. This is her opportunity to show us that she can play with the top women in the world. Talent wise, she is right there. The rest will come.”

With the return of Taylor Baker and Christine Deaudelin, Montreal's blueline moves closer to completion.

Baker put up nine points in 24 games as a PHF newcomer. Baker has represented Hungary at the last two World Championships. The RIT graduate spent two seasons in the EWHL with MAC Budapest before signing with Montreal.

“Taylor Baker was one of the All-Stars of the league last season, it was a no-brainer for us to bring her back for one more year," said Raphaël. "I know she has a chip on her shoulder and she wants to prove that she’s one of the best in the league. She is about to be a whole movie this year and I can’t wait to watch it unfold.

Deaudelin, a professional rookie last season had nine points in 23 games for the Force. The year prior, Deaudelin was the captain of the University of Ottawa.

“Christine Deaudelin has a Deade-Bomb of a shot," said Raphaël. "It’s impressive to witness live. Her first year of pro experience will allow her to continue developing in many ways to help the team."
