The Montréal Victoire were the first original six team out of the gate with a formal signing announcement on Monday agreeing to terms on a two-year contract extension with defender Kati Tabin.

The 28-year-old Tabin has been a defensive leader for the Victoire since their inaugural season. Last year she recorded four goals and eight points from the blueline.

“Kati is an invaluable part of our team, both on the ice and in the locker room," said Victoire General Manager Danièle Sauvageau. "Over the past two seasons, we’ve seen tremendous growth in her game, and she continues to elevate her play each year. Her ability to contribute at both ends of the rink makes her a key piece of our lineup, and we’re thrilled to have her back."

The Winnipeg product joined Montreal in the inaugural draft after winning an Isobel Cup as a member of the PHF's Toronto Six.

“I am extremely happy to remain in Montréal and to keep representing this team and city that I love so much. We will continue to work hard as a group to bring a championship to this city,” declared Tabin.

Tabin joins Erin Ambrose and Amanda Boulier as the only current members of Montreal's blueline.
