On the opening day of training camp, PWHL Montreal has announced the signing of longtime Montreal veteran Ann-Sophie Bettez.

Montreal selected the 36-year-old Bettez 79th overall in the PWHL Draft and signed her to a one-year contract.

Bettez has spent the last 15 years playing in Montreal from McGill University, to the CWHL's Montreal Stars and Montreal Canadiennes, to PWHPA Montreal, to the PHF's Montreal Force last season.

Bettez was the CWHL Rookie of the Year in 2013, and the following season led the league in scoring and was named league MVP.

She won a Canadian national championship with McGill, and won a CWHL title with the Montreal Canadiennes in 2017.

Last year, Bettez captained the expansion Montreal Force, scoring 22 points in 23 games. She is a former member of Canada's senior national team.

    Claire Dalton Signs One-Year Contract

Montreal also announced the signing of Yale graduate Claire Dalton to a one-year deal. Dalton had signed with the PHF's Toronto Six this offseason, and was chosen 67th overall by Montreal in the PWHL Draft.

Dalton scored 79 points in 69 games with Yale over the past two seasons, while serving as captain in her senior campaign.

Prior to Yale, Dalton represented Canada at the U-18 World Championships.
