PWHL Toronto looked like a new team at home Friday night as they shutout PWHL New York 2-0. After a slow start to the season, Toronto has now pulled equal in points with New York.
Late in the second period, Natalie Spooner drove through the neutral zone and around New York's defence before beating Corinne Schroeder to make it 1-0.
New York struggled to get pucks through to the net being outshot 23-10 through two periods.
In the third, Spooner got her second of the game banking a puck off Schroeder and in.
Kristen Campbell picked up her first shutout of the season stopping all 19 shots she faced. Corinne Schroeder made 28 stops in a losing effort for New York.
