On the final day of the regular season for both teams, PWHL Minnesota had important points on the line, while PWHL New York players had potential roster spots on the line heading into the offseason.

New York started third netminder Lindsey Post for the first time this season after she came in in relief for Abbey Levy earlier in the week and looked sharp.

Jaime Bourbonnais got New York on the board first in front of their home crowd with Brooke Hobson picking up a helper on the play.

Ella Shelton would add to New York’s lead before Denisa Krizova got one back for Minnesota.

The rest of the game was a duel of special teams as Bourbonnais got her second of the game on the powerplay followed by a Jade Downie-Landry powerplay marker to give New York a 4-1 lead.

In the third Grace Zumwinkle scored a jailbreak early to give Minnesota momentum, but it was short lived as Abby Roque buried a feed from Jessie Eldridge for New York making it 5-2.

From there on out, Post shut the door finishing the game with 30 saves in the win.

Minnesota’s playoff hopes now sit in the hands of Boston and Ottawa. If both teams win their games in regulation, Minnesota will be eliminated.
