PWHL New York has signed a pair of 2023 draft picks agreeing to one-year contracts with netminder Abbey Levy and forward Paetyn Levis. Both players spent last season in the NCAA.

Levis, 24, spent all five seasons of her NCAA career with Ohio State, helping them win the 2022 national championships. Last season Levis scored 21 goals and 40 points in 41 games.

“Paetyn is a natural-born scorer with two seasons of over 20 goals as one of the best goal scorers in the NCAA," said general manager Pascal Daoust. "She brings a significant offensive boost that will undoubtedly energize our fans. Her appetite to compete and scoring prowess will definitely set the arena on fire.”

Levis was selected in the tenth round, 57th overall by New York.

“I'm super excited to start my pro career in New York with such a great organization," said Levis. "It is an honor and an amazing opportunity to play with and against such incredible players across the league and I can't wait to get on the ice with my new teammates!”

In net, New York signed goalie Abbey Levy, who was their secon netminder selected in the 2023 Draft.

"We proudly welcome Abbey, a young goaltender with an exceptional track record, including a gold medal at the World Championships. She proudly wore the 'A' at the university level, and her tenacity makes her a formidable presence. Making our players better is unparalleled, even in training sessions," said Daoust.

The 23-year-old netminder was USA third goaltender at the World Championships this year and was recently named to USA's roster for the Rivalry Series. The 6-foot-1 stopper posted a 1.77 GAA and .947 save percentage with Boston College last season.

Levy was selected 64th overall, and will be the other half of New York's goaltending tandem alongside Corinne Schroeder.
