The former third overall selection led all first-year players in scoring with 22 points during the 2025-26 season
The New York Sirens have announced a new, two-year contract for Casey O'Brien, re-signing the forward through the 2027-28 season.

I believe in what we’re building here, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to help create a championship caliber team and culture. I’m counting down the days until we’re back at The Rock (Prudential Center). Let’s go, Sirens!"
Drafted third overall in the 2025 PWHL Draft, the Manhattan native fit in well with the Sirens, where she led all first-year players in scoring with 22 points (7G, 15A) in 28 games and ranked fifth in average time on ice among rookies.
After a season in which she posted strong numbers, O'Brien was named a finalist for the PWHL's Rookie of the Year award. Awards and nominations have become a staple throughout O'Brien's hockey career. During her time with the University of Wisconsin, O'Brien won the 2025 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, was a three-time NCAA National Champion, the WCHA Forward of the Year (2024-25), the WCHA Final Faceoff MVP (2023-24), and a WCHA Scholar Athlete (2023-24, 2024-25). O'Brien graduated as the highest-scoring player in University of Wisconsin Badgers history.
With O'Brien now signed, the Sirens now have 19 players under contract, including 10 forwards.
