Nicole Hensley has been selected in the second round, 12th overall to Minnesota. She was the first netminder selected in the PWHL Draft.

Hensley, 29, has won three World Championship gold medals and an Olympic gold medal playing for Team USA, and also owns three silvers from the events.

The Lakewood, Colorado product and Lindenwood University alumni was named the Best Goaltender at the 2022 World Championships. Hensley served as USA's starter in 2021 and 2022 before relinquishing the crease this season to Aerin Frankel, who signed with PWHL Boston during free agency.

Hensley also spent one season playing in the NWHL with the Buffalo Beauts in 2018-2019 posting a league best save percentage of .935.
