Kali Flanagan, a former Olympic gold medalist for Team USA and the reigning PHF Defender of the Year has signed a two-year contract extension with the Boston Pride.
“I’m so excited to be extending my contract in Boston — I love being a member of the Boston Pride and nothing beats getting to play hockey in the place where I grew up and getting to represent the city of Boston,” Flanagan said in a press release. “I can’t wait for this season to get started so we can start our quest to bring back home the Isobel Cup.”
Flanagan, 27, who grew up in Boston, recorded 16 points in 21 games last season for the Pride en route to being named the league's top blueliner.
“Kali is one of the best defenders in the world, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her back to lead the Pride towards another Isobel Cup,” said Paul Mara, Pride head coach. “Her work ethic, skating ability, and her desire to become the best player possible is extraordinary. Kali is a true winner on and off the ice, and we look forward to another two years of watching her in the Pride uniform.”
