PWHL Ottawa has signed USA national team member Hayley Scamurra to a two-year contract.
PWHL continued to bolster their roster this week agreeing to terms on a two-year contract with American national team veteran Hayley Scamurra.
"Hayley is one of the most tenacious, hardest working players in the league," said Ottawa GM Mike Hirshfeld. "She will set an example for our team on how we want to compete every night. Opponents do not like playing against her and that is a compliment!"
Scamurra, 28, has been a member of USA's national team since 2019 securing two World Championship gold medals and two silver, and an Olympic silver medal in that span.
Last season, Scamurra recorded 12 points in 18 games helping Team Harvey's win the PWHPA's Secret Cup.
After graduating from Northeastern University, Scamurra spent three seasons playing for the NWHL's Buffalo Beauts. In 2017-2018 Scamurra was named the league's Rookie of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and All-Star game MVP. The following season she won the NWHL scoring title recording 20 points in 16 games, proving she can produce at the professional level.
