Former Boston Fleet netminder Klára Peslarová is heading back to Europe. The long rumoured move became official this week as Peslarová signed with her former Swedish team Brynäs.
"It feels incredibly good to return to Brynäs after a year elsewhere," Peslarová said in a translated press release. "This team, this jersey and the community mean a lot to me. I am so grateful that my hockey journey is taking me here again."
Last season Peslarová appeared in only four games for the Boston Fleet taking over as starter following the injury to Aerin Frankel at the World Championships. She recorded a shutout and posted a 1.79 GAA and .937 save percentage in that span.
Peslarová was also Czechia's starter at the World Championships. In Brynäs, Peslarová will form a tandem with Norwegian national team goalie Ena Nystrom.
"It is very pleasing to have Klára back in Brynäs IF," said general manager Erika Grahm. "She is a goalkeeper of the highest class in Europe and together with Ena, she will make us strong at the back of the field. She will contribute with routine and experience to the group and I know that it is with pride that she will put on the Brynäs shirt again."
Peslarova is expected to be Czechia's starting goalie at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Her decision to return to Europe after receiving interest from much of the PWHL as a free agent involved playing more meaningful games leading up to the Milano Cortina Olympics.
Knowing they were set to lose Peslarová, the Boston Fleet signed free agent Abbey Levy and drafted Ohio State netminder Amanda Thiele.
