PHF All-Time Leader Jillian Dempsey Signs With Montreal

Long time Boston star Jillian Dempsey has signed to play in the PWHL inking a one-year deal with Montreal.

Jillian Dempsey is the all-time leading scorer from the now defunct PHF. This week she signed a one-year deal with PWHL Montreal.

“We're thrilled by Jillian’s extensive experience in the pro game," said head coach Kori Cheverie. "As a key contributor and leader in Boston, we're confident she can bring value to our team.” 

Dempsey captained the PHF's Boston Pride scoring 146 points in 142 career games in the NWHL / PHF.

“I’m eager to get back on the ice as I take the next step in my career in Montreal as part of this new chapter in professional women’s hockey. I have high hopes for the inaugural season of the PWHL," said Dempsey.

The 32-year-old is a former NWHL MVP, CWHL Rookie of the Year, and won a World Championship silver medal 

Prior to joining the Boston Pride, Dempsey spent two seasons with the CWHL's Boston Blades and played her NCAA hockey at Harvard.

Abstreiter Signs With Ottawa

Ottawa finalized their crease signing German star Sandra Abstreiter as the second half of their tandem with Emerance Maschmeyer.

Last season Abstreiter posted a sparkling 1.88 GAA and .926 save percentage in the NCAA with Providence College.
