After inking a pair of NCAA stars, the Boston Pride have announced their first re-signing of the season bringing back veteran forward Taylor Wenczkowski on a two-year contract.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity to play in Boston for another two years. The support from the city of Boston truly makes it the best place to play. It’s a dream come true being able to play professional hockey every day,” said Wenczkowski in a team news release. “The growth of the league since I joined in 2020 has been unbelievable. It’s so awesome to pave the way for the young girls coming after us who aspire to play for the Pride or in the PHF one day. I can’t wait to get back to Warrior Ice Arena and play in front of the best fans in the league!”
Wenczkowski, 25, is set to enter her fourth season in the league. She helped the Pride win back-to-back Isobel Cup championships, including being named playoff MVP in 2022.
"Taylor has been such a consistent presence on our team for three seasons now," said Pride General Manager Maddie Rigsby. "She has evolved as a player into different roles as we've needed her, and has done so with grace and hard work. Taylor always puts everything she has into the game and constantly continues to find ways to improve. She has become a natural leader and shows no signs of slowing down - we look forward to seeing her be a part of the team for another two years."
Last season, Wenczkowski scored nine points in 24 games for the Pride.
Wenczkowski is an alumni of the University of New Hampshire. The Rochester, New York product spent five seasons at the school, captaining New Hampshire in her final season.
