The PWHL today announced that, following two separate reviews with the PWHL Player Safety Committee, Toronto defender Jocelyne Larocque has been suspended for one game, and Ottawa forward Tereza Vanišová has been fined $250.

The incident reviewed involving Larocque was a cross check to the head at 16:51 of the first period in Toronto’s game against Boston on Mar. 20.

The incident reviewed involving Vanišová was a hit from behind at 7:18 of the third period in Ottawa’s game against New York on Mar. 20. Vanišová was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding on the play.

The PWHL Player Safety Committee monitors all games and is responsible for providing independent review and recommendations on supplementary discipline. Chaired by Jayna Hefford, PWHL Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations, the committee also includes Cassie Campbell-Pascall, PWHL Special Advisor; Katie Guay, a current NHL and AHL on-ice official; Mike Murphy, a long-time NHL executive and former VP of Hockey Operations; Matt McMahon, a member of the NHL’s Player Safety department.
