PWHL Boston isn't ready to quit. After winning game one of the PWHL finals, Boston fell 3-0 and 4-1 to Minnesota, and now sits only one loss from elimination. But nothing has come easy for Boston this season and they're "going to continue to fight."
"All year long it's been a journey for this team, we're use to, you know, having to fight for everything, for every inch," said defender Megan Keller.
"Playoffs, this finals, it's a series, so we have to find a way to turn the page here and learn from this game and we've got two more games coming up."
It was a pretty clear message from Keller, one also asserted by coach Kessel that her team has "two more games" to come. Kessel says her team is used to fighting against the odds, as they won their way into the playoffs with a come from behind streak. Then they swept Montreal in the opening round. Neither was expected. Now they need to do it again.
"I feel like our backs have been up against the wall for quite some time, you know we were down five points heading into that Worlds break and I think the run we went on to get us to where we're at is something...it's an accomplishment for sure."
Boston will need to win Sunday in Minnesota, which would force a fifth and deciding game back on home ice in Lowell, MA.
"We know what it's like to fight back, and we're going to continue to fight," Kessel said.
