At all levels of hockey, Corsi and Fenwick are two of the most revered advanced statistics. Both predict possession at the individual and team levels, and are seen as solid predictors of success.

Here's a look at the top performers in both stats coming from the NCAA into the 2025 PWHL Draft.

    Corsi For %

Corsi shows the differential between the number of shot attempts for while a player is on the ice at even strength, versus the number of shot attempts against. This includes shots on goal, as well as shots that miss the net or are blocked. It's a measure of all chances for and all against.

A Corsi number above 50% shows a player who is more greatly driving play and control. If a player has a Corsi For % below 50%, it means whenever they're on the ice, they're more often facing pressure and attacks against, than pushing possession away from their net.

Here’s a look at the NCAA prospects eligible for the 2025 PWHL Draft with the best Corsi For %:

    1. Makenna Webster, F, Ohio State – 69.7%
    2. Maddi Wheeler, F, Ohio State – 68.3%
    3. Jenna Buglioni, F, Ohio State – 67.6%
    4. Sarah Wozniewicz, F, Wisconsin – 67.3%
    5. Karley Garcia, D, Penn State – 66.4%
    6. Kiara Zanon, F, Ohio State – 66.0%

    19. Olivia Muhn, D, Yale – 62.2%
    20. Anna Bargman, F, Yale – 62.1%

    Fenwick For %

Fenwick For % is extremely similar to Corsi, exept that it's a shot attempt differential for and against that excludes blocked shots. While it might seem like a minor adjustment, it means that when a specific player is on the ice, their team is better able to get pucks through traffic, an also favours any player who themselves is a strong shot blocker.

For this stat, a percentage above 50% shows the player is on the ice for more attacks, rather than defending.
