The PWHL evaluation committee identified a number of eligible players as "Top Prospects" inviting them to the PWHL Draft. Other veteran pros received a separate email.

Leading up to the PWHL Draft, all players in the pool have received an invitation to attend the inaugural PWHL Draft, with a specified group identified and told they are "Top Prospects."
"You've been recognized by the evaluation committee as a top prospect," the email from PWHL Director of Player Experience Alexis Miller read to players called Top Prospects by the evaluation committee.
Those identified as "Top Prospects" were also offered a stipend of $200 USD to stay overnight in Toronto for the "opportunity for you to connect with team and league staff, along with future teammates."
According to the email, "Top Prospects" will also be asked to "participate in a variety media/PR initiatives."
The Hockey News has confirmed that the "Top Prospects" group contains primarily members of the PWHPA and NCAA graduates, as well as a select group of players who had signed, but had yet to play in the PHF, and a handful of former PHF members.
A separate email was sent to the remainder of the player pool inviting them to Toronto, but without mention of media/PR events, and without offer of a stipend. The Hockey News has confirmed that among this second group were four of the PHF's top five scorers, Patty Kazmaier winners, and former national team members from the league.
The inaugural PWHL Draft is scheduled to take place September 18. The email to players confirms the draft will start at 1pm ET.
