The draft however, is expected to drastically shrink from the 90 players picked this season, perhaps down into the 30s.
The talent available however, in the NCAA, SDHL, Naisten Liiga, USports, ZHL, and elsewhere, is immense. Even more talent will come available following next season when another group of European stars become free agents.
Here's a look at the top 120 prospects for a 2023-2024 draft.
Some players remain under contract through next season who would certainly be PWHL prospects including Petra Nieminen, Jenni Hiirikoski, Emma Seitz, Viivi Vainikka, Emma Nordin, Hanna Olsson, Michelle Karvinen, Andrea Dahlen, Ida Press, Fanuza Kadirova, Nina Pirogova, and Abby Moloughney.
