Klara Peslarova is considered a top prospect available for the 2024 PWHL DraftIt's long been understood that Klara Peslarova is one of the best goaltenders in the world. Next season when she joins the PWHL, she'll have a chance to prove that against the best shooters in the world on a nightly basis.
"She's so steady and so calm," said Czechia head coach Carla MacLeod of her national team netminder. "She's not big in stature but she plays like a big goalie."
When you run through Peslarova's accomplishments, she's also a big game goalie. Peslarova was named a Top 3 Player on her team at the 2024 World Championships after missing the 2023 tournament due to injury.
In 2022 she was named an All-Star at the Olympics, an All-Star at the World Championships, the SDHL's Goaltender of the Year, and helped Czechia win their first ever bronze medal. Her national team knows Peslarova's value on the ice.
"Obviously we benefit from her athleticism, where she's quite mobile in the net," said MacLeod. "One of the best players of the puck I've seen from a goalie in a long time. There's a lot attributes there for Klara that make her one of the best goalies in the world."
This year with Brynas in the SDHL she again put up sparkling numbers posting a 1.76 GAA and .935 save percentage along with three shutouts in 20 games.
Peslarova, 27, is expected to be one of the few netminders selected in the PWHL Draft or signed as a free agent this year.
