The PWHL has suspended New York Sirens forward Emmy Fecteau one game for an illegal hit against Seattle's Mikyla Grant-Mentis.

The PWHL's Player Safety committee reviewed a hit thrown by New York Sirens forward Emmy Fecteau, and determined the play warranted supplemental discipline.

Fecteau was suspended one game for the hit she threw against Seattle Torrent forward Mikyla Grant-Mentis when the teams met Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

"Fecteau was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for an illegal check to the head at 17:48 of the first period on opponent Mikyla Grant-Mentis. In their review, the Player Safety Committee determined that while the head was not the main point of contact, Fecteau delivered a dangerous body check with no intent to play the puck when she had ample opportunity to do so, and with sufficient force that warrants supplemental discipline," the PWHL wrote of the incident.

Fecteau, 27, is in her second season in the PWHL, this season recording a lone assist in 24 games with the Sirens. The former Concordia University captain was a sixth round pick, 31st overall in 2024.

This is the first incident of supplemental discipline in Fecteau’s career.
