PWHL New York defender Johanna Fallman has signed with her former team Luleå in Sweden.

Former PWHL New York defender Johanna Fallman is heading home signing with her former club Luleå. The Hockey News had reported back in June that Fallman had decided not to return to New York and was being recruited by her former team in Sweden.
Luleå is the reigning champions for several seasons now in the SDHL, where they have again assembled a strong team for the 2024-2025 season.
Fallman will have big shoes to fill returning to Lulea with defenders Ronja Savolainen and Daniela Pejsova both heading to the PWHL this season.
"Luleå Hockey is home for me and this is where my heart lives, so it feels incredibly fun to be back in Norrbotten again," Fallman said in a translated Luleå news release. "It feels a bit like a fresh start with a handful of new players – which is a bit new for this team – so it should be exciting to tackle.
"What I hope to contribute is above all my routine and my physical game - as it has been a lot of fun to play physically over there and I hope they allow a little more in the SDHL as well."
The 34-year-old former Swedish national team member played 21 games with PWHL New York last season but did not register a point. Fallman averaged just over 11 minutes per game with New York last season.
She's won five SDHL titles with Luleå in the past.
